Andrew Starr's Unofficial Eudora Site
Sending Attachments:
Eudora will encode attachments to be sent, but you may wish to compress them first to take less sending and download time, esp. since you or your recipient may be paying for connect time. See Encoding information
Compression tools:
Receiving Attachments:
- Decoders/Uncompression tools
- Helper Applications
- If the attachment was itself an application, you should be all set. Just double click on the attachment and it should open. (Eudora may ask you if you are sure you wish to do so the first time you attempt to open it.)
- If the attachment was an application in a self-extracting archive, you may need to double click it and follow the instructions.
- If the attachment was compressed, you may need to run it through one of the above Uncompression tools.
- If the attachment is a document, you need to have an application that can display files of that type. I.e. if someone sends you a WordPerfect to have WordPerfect to open it. If someone sends you a .wav sound file, you need a program that can play .wav sound files. If you are unsure what type of document the attachment is, ask the person who sent it to you.
